For instance in places such as the “indvandrer” (immigrant) shops and greengrocers that you find, for example in Copenhagen, on Nørrebrogade and behind the main station.

A recipe (something easy even for men!)
I asked one of my friends in the asylum center, Sherifa, to share a delicious – and affordable – recipe with me. I dug into her recipes and chose this easy chicken dish for 4-5 people. Sherifa recommends serving it with steamed broccoli, rice, bread, butter, fruits and milk. But that depends on your budget.

6 boneless, skinless chicken breast (50 kr)
1 grated parmesan, cheese (13 kr)
6 tablespoons pesto (4 kr)

Heat the oven to 250 degrees. Mix the 6 tablespoons of pesto with half the cheese. Rub the pesto mixture onto the chicken breast until it´s all lightly mixed. Put the remaining cheese on a plate and press both sides of the chicken breast into cheese to form a coating. Place the chicken onto a baking dish. Bake for 25 minutes at a temperature of 165 degrees.

Nutritional facts
To understand nutrition, we need to understand that about every three days our body replaces most of its cells, and when the nutritional intake is adequate the new cells are always healthier than the old.

For this to happen, we need balanced amounts of the six basic food groups every day.

– Proteins – eggs, chicken, fish
– Carbohydrates – potatoes, rice, cereals
– Fats – oils, butter
– Vitamins and Minerals – fruits, fresh vegetables
– Water
