Jan Pêt Khorto, a former asylum seeker, was invited by Roskilde Red Cross School to share his experience of how to get into the Danish education system without detours. A detailed slide show showed the participants the process and key points to cut into the education system from basic to high level.
“When I was an asylum seeker, I had a lot of problems when I applied for education acceptance. I was asked to go here to finish this and there to finish that. It was just a mixed information for me to figure out. It took me two years to figure out how to apply an university and choose a program. Then I finished my Danish course, spent one year to apply and then went CBS. If I had known before how to figure out, I should have started one year earlier,” told Jan Pêt Khorto.
Today Jan Pêt Khorto is in his last year at Copenhagen Business School (CBS) and he is also a member of the Syrian Cultural Institute, which helps both authorities and refugees.
